Katikenapally
Katikenapally is a village in Karimnagar district Andhra Pradesh, India. It was founded by Late Sri Kota Reddy Patel, a wealthy landlord,AbOUT 125 years ago. The succeeding generations of the founder family live here even today.
It is a proud home of many great men ,who have fought for the liberation of the princely state of Hyderabad.People of various creeds live together in harmony in Katikenapally.A very diverse village undergoing many modifications over time and producing many educated professionals.
Agriculture is the most prominent occupation.Cereals,Pulses,Corn,Cotton and Fruits are grown here. The place being a part of the deccan plateau experiences tropical weather.
A survey conducted reveals presence of precious export quality granite stone in the surroundings. The above enhances the economic importance of the zone.
The village is known for a tree that has ten stems instead of one. A temple has been founded here. Dhulikatta a 'Buddhist excavation site' is situated about 10 kilometers away.
The village lies enroute Mumbai and can be reached through Indian National Highway Number 16.
A fully upgraded government school functions here.

The people speak Telugu,the native language of Andhra Pradesh, in the regional TELANGANA'''' dialect.

While the men wear Pancha[five yard long cloth] or trousers, the women wear Sari or Cheera in either Dravidian or Maratha style.

Cuisine
People here prepare food using excess of spices.Apart from using local vegetables, many delicacies using meat of chicken,goat,ram,fish and lobsters are prepared.Pickles made from Mangoes called 'Avakaya Pacchadi' and 'Chakkara Thokku' make ones mouth to water.Many other special foods too are cooked on festivals.
Popular Beliefs
During the time of droughts,people of the village believe that marrying two frogs would shower rain.And later sweet pudding is poured from a slope as if it were rain.Though the ritual seems strange,the elderly say that it rained every time the ritual was practiced.(An issue that concerns to matter of faith of an individual).
Sri Kota Reddy Patel
Reddy was a rich Zammendar[Owner of land], hailing from Abbapuram and migrated to katikenapally.He was addressed as Patel[the head].He was pious person and the friend of all.He was said to possess more than 500 acres of land.He had passion to breed fine horses.Tens of servants served him.He was survived by three children, of whom two passed away.
