Jagadbandhu Institution

Jagadbandhu Institution (); (Listen: ); is a school for boys in South Kolkata, West Bengal, India, affiliated to the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education for Madhyamik Pariksha (10th Board exams), and to the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education for Higher Secondary Examination (12th Board exams).

History

Jagadbandhu Institution is a Bengali medium of South Kolkata. The school was established by Mr.Jagadbandhu Roy in 1914 at 25 Fern Road, Kolkata-19. Sir Ashutosh Mukherjee laid the foundation stone on January 11, 1914. The first president and vice-president of the school were respectively Asutosh Choudhury and Rai Bahadur Ramtaran Banerjee. The first school secretary was Rajendra Bidyabhusan.

The school has a cricket and football training center. The school organizes sports competitions. Students participate in inter-city sport competitions.

Students are encouraged to participate in cultural activities specially singing, recitation and drawing.

For students of class eleven and twelve (Science and Commerce) the school organizes an annual excursion.
