Deshabandhu Vidyalaya
Deshabandhu Vidyalaya (Boys') or D.V.(Boys') is a secondary school in Chittaranjan, India. It offers higher secondary education in Hindi medium and secondary education in Bengali medium. It is managed by the Chittaranjan Locomotive Works.It is one of the best schools in Chittaranajn-Asansol Region. Conducive learning atmosphere has helped a thousand of children with limited economic resources to get best education.
History
The school was founded in 1951 to educate the children of the workers in the newly founded Chittaranjan Locomotive Works.From that time there is no look back. It has a strong emotional bonding with local people.
Academics
DV(Boys') is two schools in one building. The Hindi medium school follows the CBSE curriculam, with 1800 students. In the Higher Secondary stage it has Arts, Science and Commerce streams.
The Bengali medium school is up to Madhyamik level and follows the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education.
Campus
The school is located on the Mihijam Fatehpur main road in the east of the Oval Ground and in front of the Ambedkar Avenue. It has an area of 60 ha with Science and Mathematics labs for seconadry students and Chemistry, Physics and Biology labs for Higher Secondary students. It has a large ground.
