Ishan Institute of Architecture and Planning
The Ishan Institute of Architecture and Planning (IIAP) is an architecture school located in Greater Noida, India offering a five year full-time ) Bachelor of Architecture (B-Arch) program. The institute was fFounded by the Ishan Educational Research Society, and is recognized by Council of Architecture (COA) and affiliated to Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), Lucknow. It is located in Knowledge Park 1 of Greater Noida region of Uttar Pradesh. Dr.D.K.Garg is the founder trustee of the institute.
Accreditation
Ishan Institute of Architecture and Planning offers a five year (full-time) Bachelor of Architecture (B-Arch) program that is recognized by Council of Architecture (COA) and affiliated to Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), Lucknow. The course consists of 10 semesters that includes one semester for training and one for Architectural Thesis.
Program Offered
The Bachelor of Architecture, five year full-time professional undergraduate level degree, aims at educating aspirants who will assume leadership role in creating built environment for future generations. The main goal of this course is to inculcate the ability to conceptualize, formulate, design, detail and execute according to specific requirements & needs, in the context of different social, cultural, geographical, economic scenario and technical aspects.
Infrastructure
The infrastructure of Ishan Institute of Architecture and Planning May Be segregated into distinct complexes such as classrooms, computer lab for architectural design, architectural studios, research lab, surveying lab, workshop for carpentry, construction and model making, photography laboratory and residential complex consisting of separate hostels for boys and girls.
A collection of books, Indian and foreign publications on Architecture and related issues, with more than two dozen national and International Journals, periodicals and magazines subscribed to. The institute houses computer labs consisting of computer systems desk jets and laser printers. The labs are equipped with latest architectural and other related software packages like AutoDesk Architectural Desktop, 3Dmax, Photoshop, CorelDraw, Page Maker, MS Office etc.
There are two dozen architectural studios with sufficient number of drawing boards, well-furnished lecture halls and tutorial rooms; and other facilities for audiovisual presentations with the aid of LCD and overhead projectors. There is a well-equipped research lab with appropriate computer facilities to facilitate research and consultancy activities in architecture and allied subjects.
The institute accommodates a well equipped surveying lab consisting of theodolites, dumpy levels, plane tables etc. to facilitate training the students AbOUT its usage.
The institute has a well equipped workshop consisting of adequate tools and equipment and a well-developed Construction yard for a hands on experience with various activities concerned with construction.
The institute also has well-equipped laboratory for photographs development is provided for, to enable the students to develop their skills in the subject of photography.
Events
The Institute celebrates the 8th August every year as the Foundation Day of Ishan Group of Institutions. The Foundation day celebration of the institute is a one day gala that sets the tone for the ACTIVE participation of the new batch of students. Students from the institute organize, plan and participate in various cultural and social activities.
Kshitz is the annual cultural event of the institute. The event takes place in the winter season, spans across three to four days and attracts hoards of spectators from different parts of the country.
Global Ethics and Values Convention was held from 16 to 18 December 2012 at Ishan Institute of Law, Greater Noida, fastest growing educational, industrial and outsourcing hub situated on the outskirts of New Delhi.It was a three day fully residential event to discuss, learn and share about Ethics and Values.
