History

Built in the 1950s, the theater was built during the heyday of drive-in theaters. The theater thrived until it was done in by local competition. This competition included two movie theaters on the site of Cape Cod Mall and one across the street of the mall. Interestingly, both of these theaters were closed within 15 years of the closing of the drive-in. The site was also home to church services over the years. On March 17, 1989, the concession stand at the theater was destroyed, signaling an official end to the theater. The theater site was later developed into Festival Plaza.
