Gulf Indian School
Gulf Indian School, Kuwait is recognized by the Ministry of Education, Kuwait and is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi.It is a member of the 'Council of CBSE Affiliated Schools in the Gulf'. The school was established in 1993. It now has classes from Kindergarten to standard XII. The medium of instruction is English. The school follows the curriculum and syllabus of CBSE., New Delhi and prepares the students for the All India Secondary School Examination and All India Senior School Certificate Examination.
Hindi is a compulsory second language from class I to class VIII. In classes IX and X French is offered as an optional second language.
Arabic is taught as a third language in all classes from II to IX.
The academic session starts in April and ends in March. The school was established in September 1993 and is run by the Al-Faisal Educational Est. Co., which also owns and manages 6 other schools in Kuwait.
Mr. Ghazi Faisal Al-Dabbous is the Chairman of Al-Faisal Educational Est. Co. A great visionary with a sharp insight in the intricacies involved in imparting quality education.

Mr. Sreekumar Pillai, the Assistant Manager of Al-Faisal Educational Est. Co., is in-charge of the day-to-day administration of the school. Being a charismatic and natural leader his input is highly valued and much appreciated.

General Rules of the School:
1. School hours: 7:30 am to 1:15 pm.
2. School uniform is compulsory and students must come to school in the prescribed uniform in exact colour and pattern.
3. Ornaments or jewellery of any kind shall not be worn in the school. Use of make-up is not allowed.
4. Students must be punctual. They must settle down in their classes with the first bell.
5. The school will not be responsible, before and after the school hours, for the students who use private transport.
6. Students suffering from infectious diseases shall not be permitted to attend the school until full recovery supported by a medical certificate. For diseases like chicken pox, mumps and measles the isolation period is 14 days.
7. In the case of long leave or leave during tests/exams, permission should be taken from the Head of the school. In other cases a leave letter must be submitted to the class teacher.
8. Students are not allowed to leave the school premises without the permission of the Head of the school. They are not allowed to enter any class other than their own.
9. Students are not allowed to meet parents/visitors during the class hours without the permission of the Head of the school. Telephone calls to the students unless urgent will not be entertained.
10. Only parents are permitted to take their children out during class hours after obtaining necessary permission from the Head of the school.
11. Students should take care to keep the class-room and school premises neat and clean.
12. Chewing gum is strictly forbidden in the school premises/buses.

All the students from class I onwards are grouped into four Houses, namely Sathya, Seva, Jyothi and Santhi, which are the ideals embodied in the school motto.
HOUSE SYSTEM
The House colours are blue, pink, orange and green respectively. The points gained or lost by the students for their performance in curricular and co-curricular activities and general behaviour contribute to the total points of their Houses. The House system aims at developing a sense of responsibility, co-operation and competitive spirit among the students.
