AvroKO

AvroKO is an award-winning design and concept firm established in 2000 that has conceptualized and designed acclaimed New York City restaurants PUBLIC, Double Crown, The Stanton Social, Quality Meats, and Park Avenue. In February 2008, Harper Collins published AvroKO’s first book, Best Ugly, revealing the history and process behind its unique design process that integrates multiple design disciplines of architecture, interiors, furniture design, lighting design, graphics and branding. AvroKO has made its name not only in working on projects for clients but also in executing ideas for themselves to own and operate, what they refer to as self-propelled projects. This has led them to everything from food product development (PUBLIC Product, 2004), to real estate development (Smartspace, 2005), to furniture lines (The Transport Series, 2006), to clothing/ uniform lines (Mona+Holly, 2009), as well as to the creation of AvroKO Hospitality Group (opening PUBLIC in 2003, the Monday Room in 2006, and both Double Crown and Madam Geneva in 2008). AvroKO has received two James Beard Awards, four Hospitality Design Awards, and the Lawrence J. Israel Prize. In addition to having work included in 13 books, they have been published in the New York Times, Bon Appetit, Time, Elle and Elle Décor, Esquire, Food & Wine, Surface, Wallpaper, Architectural Record, Interior Design, Metropolis, and New York Magazine among others.
