Eclecia
Eclecia is the annual cultural fest of Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata and is held every year in March/April.
History
Eclecia 2002
The college fest was started by the first batch of Heritage Institute of Technology B.Tech batch in 2002 along with the ACTIVE cooperation of faculty members & it was held in CLT Mahal, Dhakuria, Kolkata.
Eclecia 2003
In the second year it was held in Najrul Mancha and it was a success. Many of the inter college competitions were held and local Kolkata rock bands were invited for performances.
Eclecia 2004
In the next year i.e Eclecia, '04 held at Swabhumi, was a massive hit & its news came in the leading newspapers & radio channels of the city drawing a huge number of audiences. It was inaugurated by Russi Modi. New events like fashion show was introduced & bands like Euphoria were invited for live performance.
Eclecia 2005
Eclecia 2005 again shifted its venue to Nazrul Mancha where the ever-rocking Parikrama had wooed the crowd thru their Rocking performance.
Eclecia 2006
A high point in the history of Eclecia was reached in its 4th year of celebration when the festival was organised in the Heritage campus for the first time. On the home ground, Eclecia 2006 not only drew the attention of the college going fraternity but also had the patronage of many corporate houses. Three days of music and masti reached its peak on the final day when Indian Ocean belted out its soul-stirring music to enthrall one and all.
Eclecia 2009
A time when Eclecia went international! This year was different and different in all sorts. With Breathe and Rhythmscape, Eclecia not only gave everone soul-stirring evenings on the lush-green Heritage campus but with Toshi and DJ Harish, all got the chance to let their hair down. With fireworks piercing through the April night sky, everyone swayed to Breathe - the Pink Floyd cover band which was undoubtedly the best thing that Kolkata saw in International Rock since a long time. Not forgetting the eclectic performance of RhythmScape who had none other than THE AMYT DUTTA as guest artist, Bickram Ghosh along with the rest had mesmerized the crowd for once and all. Breaking away from the traditional norms of classical music, Fusion was never so entralling! Eclecia 2009 will be remembered as the time when a college fest became a Kolkata Event!
Organisers
Eclecia, the cultural extravangza is organised by the Student's Council of Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata. It is student-elected body having representatives from current batches of the institute. Apart from Eclecia, the Student Council is also involved in the round-the-year activities like arranging blood donation camps, organising the Freshers' Welcome party etc.
Events
Stage events, whether offstage or onstage, forms an integral part of Eclecia . Starting from Blitzkrieg, our very own gaming arena to On the Rocks, which gives you unadulterated high of upcoming rock sensations, Eclecia has something for all.
