Desi Sargent
Desi Sargent is an American football player.
Sargent was a quarterback for the South Carolina Gamecocks from 1990 to 1992. He set a lot of still standing records. Sargent was also much known for his football IQ as a quarterback. As a Gamecock quarterback, Sargent compiled 6,960 yards in total offense, completing 824 of 1,316 passes. He threw 46 touchdown passes in his career.
Sargent left the Gamecocks to serve in the armed forces and was a heavily recruited 2nd or third round draft pick. While serving in the military abroad, Sargent played quarterback for the Rhein Fire. The Rhein Fire were a professional American football team in NFL Europa, formerly the World League of American Football. Established in Germany in 1995, the franchise resurrected the name of the former Birmingham Fire team which was ACTIVE during the 1991-1992 WLAF seasons. Sargent played for one unsuccessful season, while his individual statistics were very productive an injury late into the season led to his retirement.
