Danger of Death (band)

Danger Of Death (Commonly abbrieviated as DOD) is an UK based band which is still quite young, formed around the end of 2006 by Lance Finney (guitarist), "Rob" (former Lead) and Romael Roshan (singer, song writer).

Origin of the name

The name Danger Of Death originates from an danger of death warning sign that Lance Finney noticed on some electrical equipment during one of the band's jamming sessions (practice). Though the name was only temporary is hasn't been changed since Romael Roshan wrote a song titled Danger Of Death. Discussions of changing the name stopped completely when Jake Chapman made a logo for the band that was liked by fans and band members alike. The name has an "electric" feel to it, a bit like the band's music.

History

In 2006, during his A-levels Lance Finney met Romael (his Chemistry class mate) and Rob (his music buddy). Together the 3 formed a band with no name, but music practise room sessions, which they jokingly referred to as "JAM", proved that they were going somewhere. In one similar JAMing session Lance, came up with the name Danger of Death. Eventually the crew was joined by Jake, who played bass. But due to Rob having to go University the very next year, Jake took over lead after him. Romael also got his brother involved and invited him to play the drums. Lastly the band got a new Bass guitarist, Kit. However due to traveling problems Kit had to discontinue the relationship. On the 30th of November, Danger of Death performed on the November to Remember concert at Hayesfield School Technology College, the band's music gathered a lot of positive response from the public.

Music

It can be hard to describe the music of Danger Of Death. Even band members have difficulty categorising the specific rock genre their music belongs to(hence Band members say, 'We're just Hardcore, Old School Rock!'). Asian culture/Gospel/Metal....so many things seem to infleunce the band's music. The music is sometimes referred to as "Coldplay with metal". The lyrics have strong meaning to them (even if they might sound a bit whackey sometimes).
