Canadian Association of Certified Planning Technicians
The Canadian Association of Certified Planning Technicians (CACPT) is a Canadian professional organization in the urban planning, land use planning, transportation planning, urban design, and geographical information systems field.
In March 1978, a Provincial Charter was issued to the Canadian Association of Certified Planning Technicians with a mandate to create an Association that would bring together Planning Technicians throughout Canada.
The association is a non-profit organization and has approximately 415 full, associate and student members in Ontario, British Columbia, Nova Scotia, Alberta, and throughout Canada.
The CACPT holds a professional development conference annually in different locations throughout Southern Ontario.
Colleges
Currently the CACPT recognizes several college programs as providing the necessary education and training to qualify its students as Certified Planning Technicians (CPT). The colleges which provided these programs are:
- Centre of Geographic Sciences, Lawrencetown, Nova Scotia
- Mohawk College, Hamilton, Ontario
- Fanshawe College, London, Ontario
- Langara College, Vancouver, British Columbia
