Bharati Vidyapeeth's College of Engineering

Bharati Vidyapeeth's College of Engineering (BVCOE) is an engineering college in Paschim Vihar, New Delhi, India. It is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India.THe college was established in 1999. Its parent body is Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, Pune. It is affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi.

The flagship program of the college is the Bachelor of Technology undergraduate degree.

As of 2013, the college is headed by Prof. Arun Vishnu Chaoji who took over from K. C. Tiwari.

Facilities

Computer lab at BVCOE

A red brick building houses BVCOE. The laboratory wing has a light blue glass facade, which has made the college a major landmark.

The Technology department and administrative block are in a single building with four internally divided blocks (A–D). The building houses all academic facilities except an auditorium which is shared with the Business department. The college has a spacious playground, tennis court, recreation centre, cricket pitch and full-size basketball court. The college provides equipment for soccer, chess and indoor games such as table tennis.

The college has well-equipped professional training laboratories including CCNA and a research and development centre.

Intake

The total intake of students for an year is 420 students.

  • Computer Science and Engineering- In 2012, the intake for this branch has been increased from 60 to 120
  • Information Technology- 60 students
  • Electronics and Electrical Engineering- 60 students
  • Instrumentation and Control Engineering- 60 students
  • Electronics and Communication Engineering- 120 students

An additional 3-8 students per class are admitted through the lateral entry scheme for diploma students in the 2nd year of a batch.

Admissions

Students are admitted on the basis of the merit obtained by them in the All India Common Entrance Test (CET) organized by GGSIPU, Delhi and the counseling session is conducted at GGSIPU, Delhi.

Out of total number of seat, the 90% seats are filled in by the Centralized Counselling to be conducted by GGSIP University based on its CET.

10% seats are reserved for Management Category. Admission to these 10% Reserved Management Category Seats is done by the Management on merit as per the Instructions of the Govt. of NCT, Delhi and GGSIP University.

Research and development cell

The R&D cell has been involved in projects including the EU Asia-Link project. Major research areas include Value-added Services in Communication Systems, Tsunami: Radio Alert System, Sustainable Built Environment, Image Processing, Nano Technology, Application of IT to problems in energy, environment, Embedded Systems and VLSI Technology

Student life

A hostel is available for girls. A canteen serves food and drink from 8:30 AM to 9 PM. Corprova is the business fest. Two technical festival organized every year in February or March: IEEE Fervour, ISTE Evoluzione. The cultural festival, Xtasy, is organized every two years. It was last held in March 2012. Chapters of technical and societies such as IEEE, ISTE, GTUG and others are present.
