Agustín Antonio Villafaña Rodriguez

Agustín Antonio Villafaña Rodriguez was born in Guantanamo, Oriente, Cuba, in June 13, 1952. He develops the Ceramics, Painting, and Engraving. In 1972 he graduated of the Escuela Nacional de Arte (ENA), Havana, Cuba. Since 1972 to 1985 he was Professor of Engraving. Escuela Elemental de Arte, Isla de la Juventud, Cuba.

Collective Exhibitions

During his life he was part of many collective exhibitions, among them we can mention the III Salón Nacional Juvenil de Artes Plásticas. Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, Havana, Cuba, 1973. In 1978 he participated in the VII Salón Nacional Juvenil de Artes Plásticas. Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, Havana, Cuba. In 1985 some of his works were selected to conform "Lo Util y lo Bello". Diseños de Artistas Cubanos para Estampado Textil de la Industria Ligera y Cerámica Industrial de la Isla de la Juventud [March]. Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, Havana, Cuba. In 1996 he was included in "Panorama de la Cerámica Cubana Contemporánea". XXXVIII Salón Anual Internacional. Centro Argentino de Arte Cerámico [November 29 December 15]. Awards

During his life he had obtained various awards like the First Mention. II Feria Nacional de Cerámica, Isla de la Juventud, Cuba, 1983. And in 1989 he obtained the Prize. I Bienal de Cerámica de Pequeño Formato "Amelia Peláez", Museo de Artes Decorativas, Havana, Cuba.
