Ciro Quintana Gutiérrez

Ciro Quintana Gutiérrez was born in Havana, Cuba on august, 1964. He did art studies in the Escuela Provincial de Artes Plásticas "San Alejandro". Later he did it in the Instituto Superior de Arte (I.S.A). He did mostly painting, drawing and instalations. Was member of the group Puré.

Individual Exhibitions

He has in his Cv various imbdividual shows, among them can be mention Postmodernism in Cuba, Ñoo, Fototeca de Cuba, 1988, Havana. In 1991 he presented Trabajo para una Bienal no del Tercer Mundo. Cuarta Bienal de La Habana. Galería Servando Cabrera Moreno, Havana.

Collective exhibition

In a collective perspective can be mention several exhibitions, the principals are Relevo ISA (collateral to the secound Havana Biennial). Galería El Pasillo, Instituto Superior de Arte (I.S.A), Havana, Cuba, 1986. She was alo in the IV International Drawing Triennial, Polland in 1988. Oppening the nineties decade she was part of the big exhibition El Objeto Esculturado. Centro de Desarrollo de las Artes Visuales,Havana.

Awards

He has been recoognized in several occasions, like in 1992 witn the painting prize Rome,. Italy. He received also the golden medall for the best work at the I Caribbean and Central American Painting, Dominican Republic in 1997.
