2026–27 Scottish Women's Premier League 2

The 2026–27 Scottish Women's Premier League 2, known as the ScottishPower Women's Premier League 2 for sponsorship reasons, is the 12th season of the Scottish Women's Premier League 2 (SWPL 2), the second division of women's football in Scotland, and the fifth season organised by the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL). The season began on 16 August 2026 and is scheduled to conclude on 16 May 2027.

Spartans, champions of the 2025–26 SWPL 2, were promoted to the SWPL, while Hamilton Academical were relegated from the top division. Stirling University were relegated to the Scottish Women's Football Championship, while East Fife were relegated after losing the SWPL 2 play-off final 2–1 to Falkirk. Falkirk were therefore promoted alongside Renfrew Ladies, who had won the 2025–26 Scottish Women's Football Championship.

Regular season

Each club plays the other nine clubs twice, once at home and once away, for a total of 18 matches. The league then splits into a top six and bottom four. The top six play each other twice more, giving each club 28 matches in total, while the bottom four play each other twice more, giving each club 24 matches.

The final pre-split fixtures are scheduled for 21 February 2027, with both sections scheduled to complete their league fixtures on 16 May.

The team finishing first is promoted automatically to the Scottish Women's Premier League. The clubs finishing second, third and fourth enter the SWPL promotion play-offs. The ninth-placed club enters a relegation play-off against the second-placed team from the Scottish Women's Football Championship, while the tenth-placed club is relegated automatically.

League positions are determined by points. If clubs are level on points, they are separated by their head-to-head record, using points, goal difference and then goals scored. If they remain level, the criteria are post-split goal difference, goals scored and wins, followed by total wins, overall goal difference and overall goals scored.
