1987 Nashville Sounds season

The Nashville Sounds' 1987 season was the franchise's tenth year of play. The team finished the regular season with a record of 64 wins and 76 losses. They finished seventh in the league, as the American Association was not divided into divisions that year, which kept them out of the post-season.

Regular season

Spending the beginning of the 1987 season around the top of the standings, the team hit a slump after losing a few key players mid-season. The result was a 64–76 record and a last place finish. One player lost due to injuries was third baseman Chris Sabo. The following season, Sabo was promoted to Cincinnati and was also named the 1988 National League Rookie of the Year, a first for any former Sounds player.
