Awards and honors

Outfielder Skeeter Barnes and first baseman Scotti Madison were named to the league's mid-season All-Star team; Barnes was also named to the post-season squad. Principal owner and General Manager Larry Schmittou was named the Sporting News Triple-A Executive of the Year.

Barnes led the league with 39 doubles. Outfielder Van Snider tied with two other players for the most triples (9), and pithcer Jack Armstrong tied with three others for the most wins (12).
