Scoobra Kadoobra is the second episode of The 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo; the title is a takeoff of the word "abracadabra."

Synopsis

Vincent Van Ghoul has located one of the 13 spirits, and informs the gang as they drive through a forest; the ghost is called Maldor the Malevolent. Moments later, Maldor appears in a ball of fire in a map on the Mystery Machine's wall and dares the gang to come and get him. Maldor uses his magic to turn everything in the forest evil, including the trees which become walking demons.

Maldor is after the Wonder Wand of Zakra, which would give him unimaginable powers, but he does not know where it is; after a chase to retrieve the crystal ball that the gang accidentally dropped down a river, Van Ghoul calls and informs them where Maldor's castle is. As the gang approach the castle, Maldor turns a rabbit into a big green dragon. The dragon is about to burn Scooby when we cut to a news flash interruption; the TV company was going to put the poor dragon out of a job, and the woman from the TV company is made to feel ashamed of herself after a grilling by Scrappy.

We then return to the scene, and the gang manage to give the dragon the slip and get inside the castle, where Daphne is captured by Maldor and is put under the spell of "sleep of the century."
Meanwhile, Scooby and Shaggy inadvertently come across the wonder wand in the kitchen's cooking pot; when Maldor sees that Scooby has the wand, he tries to persuade Scooby to hand it him before demanding it, and Scooby runs.

While the rest of the gang try in vain to awaken Daphne, Maldor and Scooby duke it out, with Scooby using the wand to deflect all of Maldor's attacks and return everything in the forest back to normal; even the dragon is turned back into a rabbit. Maldor has had enough; he grows gigantic and says that he will swat Scooby like a fly. Scooby uses the wand to turn himself into a fly; Maldor searches for and finally spots Scooby, and turns into a "fly catcher" — a frog. Seeing what's going on, Flim Flam and Scrappy seize the opportunity and scoop Maldor up into the Chest of Demons, locking him away. Scooby is then returned to normal by Scrappy.

Daphne is still sleeping, as only a kiss from a great Danish prince can break the spell. Scooby is a Great Dane, so he kisses Daphne and awakens her. The episode ends with him also kissing a princess who was put under the same spell; she turns out to also be a dog, and chases after Scooby.

Johann van der Smut, better known as Goldmember, is a fictional villain in the third film of the Austin Powers trilogy, Austin Powers in Goldmember. He is played by Mike Myers (John Travolta played the character in a cameo at the end of the film). The name was inspired by the James Bond villain Auric Goldfinger. Goldmember's Dutch origins and character traits, were according to Myers inspired by an episode of the HBO TV series Real Sex. The show featured a Dutchman who operated a "sex barn" north of Rotterdam, the man's distinct forms of expression caught Myers' attention whilst he was writing.

Character
Dutch-born van der Smut lost his genitals in an unfortunate smelting (or "schmelting", as he pronounces it) accident in the 1970s and has since been known as "Goldmember". He replaced his lost "equipment" with a gold key that activates the Preparation H tractor beam. He teamed up with Dr. Evil in 2002 to kill Austin Powers and conquer the Earth.

In the end, though, Goldmember is defeated as he attempts to activate the tractor beam with the key (still attached to himself). Austin and Dr. Evil, now working together, reverse the polarity in the system and electrocute and kills him, and falls to the deck of the submarine. In the film within the film, Austinpussy, which is based on the film's events, he is played by John Travolta.

Goldmember has a nasty habit of peeling pieces of his own dead skin off and eating them, much to the disgust of others. He can also dislocate his legs with relative ease (presumably due to his lack of genitals) and is able to kick people behind him by raising his ankle to his shoulder. He runs his own nightclub in the 70's (Studio 69) and is the driving force behind Preparation H, the tractor beam that sucks things to Earth. Often, he talks to his armpits in a ritual-like fashion, usually whispering proper sources of certain phrases for copyright purposes. For example, after saying "And that's the way, uh-huh uh-huh, I like it," quietly comments to the side "KC and the Sunshine Band," and when complimenting Dr. Evil that "you look like a macho man," he mutters "Village People". His peculiar habits even succeed in creeping out Dr Evil.

Goldmember has a fascination for painting others genitals (or "joehoe" as he calls it) gold. In a scene in the submarine lair Goldmember asks Dr. Evil whether he can paint the genitals of Nigel Powers gold because it's "kind of my thing". Dr. Evil is clearly not too enthusiastic about the idea and replies him "How about no you crazy Dutch bastard!".
