Ateneo De Manila University is an educational institution that encourages music in all year levels from elementary to college. In the elementary level, students are taught to play at least one musical instrument per year. As they reach high school, there are school organizations that promote both pop, rock (Music Industry)and classical music (Symphonic Ensemble). In college many of the musicians are affiliated with AMP. There are at least 80 informal bands throughout the campus in Loyola Heights and seeing students with their guitars is a common scene in the area. On campus (like classrooms and gymnasium)and in the vicinity, students practice to play their favorite popular songs and even work on their own compositions and many times create big hits that get aired on the FM radios. With the advent of digital pc-based recording, they can now rehearse and at the same time create digital copies of their creations. Places like Future Star, Blueberry and recently Auditions Digital Solutions provide services to cater to the demand for better practice rooms to improve their talent and trade.

When it come to band rehearsal studios, it is important that there should be some acoustics design in the rooms not so much to keep sound from leaking into the next room wall but to control reverberation and standing waves inside the practice rooms. This way, the music will sound right and the students will not be playing so loud to compensate for canceled frequency bands due to bad room acoustics. In the Ateneo area, Auditions Digital Solutions has invested in good acoustics engineering and professional sound engineering in its pro audio equipment. They also encourage students and customers to discuss with them technical issues that will prepare them for live and recording performances.

For students, the accessibility of rehearsal venues is very important. Access from public transport such as Jeepneys and even Tricycles Cabs. Proximity to pedestrian overpass is also important for safe walking to and from the studio.

Around the building, parking should be available and 24 hour guards and patrols will help secure the students and their cars that are properly parked.
