There was a girl named Teona who always went to the big old oak tree by the river. That tree wasn’t just wood and leaves — it was her friend, her secret place, the spot where the world felt quiet and safe. Whenever life got heavy, she would sit beneath its sprawling branches and let her thoughts drift with the river’s flow.

One afternoon, dark clouds rolled in, and a fierce storm swept over the valley. Lightning cracked and rain poured, rattling the branches of the oak. Teona held onto the trunk, feeling every gust of wind as if the tree itself was struggling alongside her. When the storm finally passed, the mighty oak had fallen. Teona’s heart sank — the tree that had always been there for her was gone.

Days passed. Teona visited the spot every morning, hoping to find some sign of life, some hint that her old friend wasn’t truly gone. And one day, tiny green shoots poked through the soil where the oak had fallen. A young sapling, fragile but stubborn, reaching for the sky.

Teona smiled. The old tree had ended, but something new was beginning. She realized that growth often comes after loss, and that hope can sprout even from the darkest storms. From that day on, the sapling became her new friend, her new secret spot — a reminder that life keeps moving forward, and that every ending carries the seed of a beginning.
