Zuar Antia is a former Georgian light welterweight boxer. Early life Zuar was born in the Georgian town of Poti and first learned to box with his local club. Coaching career Zuar first started coaching with the Georgian national team. His achievements with the Georgian squad did not go unnoticed and he was appointed coach with the Soviet Union squad. In 2003 he became a coach with the Irish Amateur Boxing Association. In 2007 he became the technical coach for the Irish boxing team and helped the team bring back seven medals in the 2008 and 2012 Olympic games. Personal life Zuar lives in Bray with his wife and two sons, David and George. David boxes out of the Bray club and is studying for his Leaving Certificate this year, while George is a keen soccer player.
