The Zeitgeist Project is a global initiative examining the current Zeitgeist. It seeks to create a critical mass of influencers to address root cause address for the betterment of particular nations and the world at large. It is based on the premise that ideas have consequences and that actions are born from ideas.

The focal point of this initiative is the National Zeitgeist Assembly which will convene once every three years. The Zeitgeist Project seeks to bring together under one roof a society’s most influential leaders, thinkers, and artists not only to celebrate the Zeitgeist but also to address viral ideologies.

By impacting the influencers of a society the Zeitgeist Project hopes to achieve long term results. The philosophy of the Zeitgeist Project is that energy and time spent addressing root causes of national and global issues provides more significant results than merely treating the effects.

Terminology
The etymology of the word "zeitgeist" derives from two German words Zeit “time” and Geist “spirit” . According to Merriam-Webster Online, Zeitgeist speaks to the “general intellectual, moral, and cultural climate of an era”. In the entry on Zeitgeist in the History of Ideas, “Geist der Zeiten meant originally the sum total of the spirit of generations through the ages. Gradually the meaning of this expression was contracted so as to describe the principle of a certain historical period as it conceives of itself (Karl Löwith). As such this shift is representative of the modern idea of historical self-consciousness and to some extent of severing the ties of continuity between generations”.
