Zach Paikin

Zach Paikin (born 1992 in Toronto, Canada) is a Liberal activist and a Canadian political commentator. He is the son of Steve Paikin, host of TVO’s The Agenda. He has stated that he is "of Ukrainian, Russian and Polish stock".
Biography
Originally from Toronto, Zach Paikin was a student at McGill University in Montreal, where he studied from 2009 to 2012. He has earned a Bachelor of Arts from McGill University and is currently pursuing a Masters in Global Affairs at the .
Paikin is actively involved in the Liberal Party of Canada. Currently a member of the board of directors of the Mount Royal Liberal Association. He was a candidate for National Policy Chair of the Liberal Party of Canada at the party's 2012 biennial convention. Paikin announced on Feb. 18, 2014 that he would be seeking a nomination to run for the federal Liberals in 2015.
Since 2012 he is the Canada Editor at Fair Observer, a guest columnist for Canada's iPolitics, a blogger for The Huffington Post Canada. Paikin has written extensively for various Canadian publications, with a featured column at The Prince Arthur Herald and a weekly blog for Konekt Magazine online. His work has also been published in the National Post, Landmark Report, The Sentry, The Blue & White, among others. He is known for his analysis of the Middle East and Canadian politics.
He is also engaged in Jewish affairs. Paikin has a fellowship both with the Canadian Jewish Political Affairs Committee and with Hasbara. He is also a student advocate for the Canadian Institute for Jewish Research. He currently serves as the Chair of Francophone Affairs for the Canadian Federation of Jewish Students.
Paikin has organized or participated in various initiatives raised money.

He is alumni of the Lycée Français de Toronto. He ist member of the Canadian Federation of Jewish Students (CFJS), the Canmore Policy Group and a Hasbara Fellowships Alumni.
Awards
Paikin is the 2009 recipient of Ve’ahavta’s “Tikun Olam” Award for Young Leadership. He was honored with the Youth Leadership Award for his work campaigning against genocide in Darfur, promoting health and wellness among young people, fighting cancer and a community mission to Costa Rica to help repair the world.
