Yasin Demirel is a Berlin-based German Filmamaker. After attending high school in Berlin, he moved to New York City to study directing at the New York Film Academy. He continued his education at the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles and returned to Berlin where he worked as a writer, director and creative director for commercials, feature films and documentaries. In 2009 he made his first film The Bread. The film is based on a post-war II story by Wolfgang Borchert. The film received wide recognition at various international film festivals. After the successful production of various commercials Yasin Demirel devoted himself to the development of his first feature film Solitario. In 2011 he moved to Italy to write the screenplay for Solitario. The film is currently in pre-production ready to shoot in late 2015 starring Violante Placido in the lead role. In 2014, Yasin Demirel continued his work on the documentary film Architecture At Gunpoint for which he created the concept after a meeting with the Lebanese star-architect Bernard Khoury in Berlin a few years earlier. In 2015 he co-produced the film Keine Zeit zu Leben - No Time To Live directed by Aleksandar Vidojkovic. He served as the Art Director on it as well. The film received national recognition at numerous film festivals in Germany.
