Katie Rotolo

Kathleen Therese “Katie” Rotolo (born January 4, 1988) is an American actor, dancer, model, and singer.
Early Life
Katie Rotolo was born on January 4, 1988 in Miami, Florida the second child of Phylis Rotolo, a registered nurse and massage therapist and Edward Rotolo a police sergeant. She has one older brother, Joseph Rotolo.
Until the age of twenty, Katie lived in south Florida. At age three Katie began her dance training. She studied ballet, tap and jazz and later modern, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, and tap. She also studied karate, baseball, hockey, gymnastics, chorus, baton twirling as well as acting and musical theatre.
Katie began to focus more exclusively on acting and musical theater in middle school and high school. She was a principal and featured dancer in school plays and musicals which included “Seussical” and “Aida” at Cypress Bay High School. Katie was a member of the Lightning dance team, track team and swim team. She received the “Outspoken Award” as voted by her dance team in 2004. Katie was an active member in the school’s programs that assisted developmentally disabled students, Best Buddies and FRAT (Fostering Relationships between Autistics and Teens). She worked with many charitable organizations including the Dan Marino Foundation. In 2006, Katie attended a summer acting intensive directed by Peter Sklar where she received one-on-one training and performed in an Off Broadway theater for the first time.
Katie began college at Florida Atlantic University in 2006. While majoring in theater, Katie starred in numerous plays including her role as Juliet, in “Romeo & Juliet”, as well as the role of Margaret in “The Some of All Parts”, and Kelly in “One Hundred Women”.
Career
Katie’s professional career began in January 2006, with background work and principal roles in commercials and voice overs. She was featured in numerous television shows and feature films including Kings of South Beach, starring Donnie Wahlberg, My Sexiest Year, starring Frankie Muniz, Burn Notice, Sex Drive, and Dexter. Katie has been called the Waldo of Burn Notice by the producers and writers because she has appeared so many times in countless episodes of the Burn Notice television series from seasons 1-4.

In 2006, Katie put her singing on hold to concentrate on acting and dancing but has recently begun writing again and will be releasing a single in 2010.
In 2007, Katie was a featured dancer in the Eros Ramazzotti and Ricky Martin video “Non Siamo Soli”. She was a model in the international ad campaign for Kassis, a fitness clothing company and has since modeled for many companies including the likes of LVL X and Pepsi. In 2008, Katie took a semester off of school and moved to New York. She worked two jobs and continued auditioning and taking dance classes.
2009-Present
After spending six months in New York, Katie moved back to Florida to work on Burn Notice, Marley and Me, Up in the Air, and further her modeling and dance career. She was a children’s acting teacher for several months at John Robert Powers Miami. She taught monologue classes, scene study, improvisation, sitcom and commercial acting classes.
In 2009, Katie was a principal dancer in the Sony Core ad campaign. Of the hundreds of hopefuls, Katie made it to the final round of the Miami Dolphins cheerleader auditions in 2009 and performed in the Finals at the Aventura Mall.
Katie relocated in late 2009. Today, Katie resides in Los Angeles, California. She recently filmed the pilot Back in the Day as well as Doctor’s Orders in Los Angeles. She also completed filming Lies in Miami in April 2010 in which she plays Rachel Wood. Katie wrapped filming Hell Glades in late April 2010 in which she plays Sandy, her first time starring in a feature film.
