Yarn Yoshi (tentative title) is an upcoming side-scrolling platform game, currently being developed by Good-Feel. The game is to be published by Nintendo for the Wii U. It is the spiritual successor to Good-Feel's previous title, Kirby's Epic Yarn, and the first console entry in the Yoshi series since 1998's Yoshi's Story. Gameplay Much like the Kirby title, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Yarn Yoshi takes place in a world where everything is made of yarn and fabric. Players take control of Yoshi, who is able to eat things by extending his tongue. In the initial footage shown at the Nintendo Direct conference, eating certain objects transforms Yoshi from a two-dimensional yarn wireframe Yoshi into a fully knitted Yoshi. The sequins, which served as a collectible item in Kirby's Epic Yarn, are also present in the game. Development Yarn Yoshi was announced on January 23, 2013 during Nintendo's Nintendo Direct presentation. The game is being supervised by Takashi Tezuka, who previously directed ' and Yoshi's Story.
