2007 March 31st Location: New York, United States of America Game Used: Tekken 5
2007 was a very interesting year for the World Tekken Tournament. The tournament took change as it moved its location to the United States of America. So in this popular country, where do you hold such a tournament? New York City of course...The Big Apple! In this year's tournament, more big named opponents rose to the occasion.
Jerry Steel - One of the 2006 participants that made it to the final match of the tournament. He wanted revenge for last year's final match. Jerry has great skill in using Jin Kazama as his character of choice.
Barry Ford - Former Marvel vs. Capcom 2 World Champion that decided to participate in the World Tekken Tournament. Barry uses Heihachi Mishima as his character of choice.
Michael Ore - He is a USA player that completely dominated the beginning qualifying matches. For the most part, he did not lose a round to anyone. He shows great skill in using the character Kazuya Mishima.
Terry Williams - Once a US citizen, now residing in Japan. Terry Williams was another dominating player in the qualifying matches. Terry is also very skilled in using Kazuya Mishima.
Jake Arrington - Former Street Fighter 2 World Champion. Jake competed in the 2006 tournament but was eliminated quickly. Jake likes to use Paul Phoenix as he is very skillful with his air combos.
Feng Tao - He is the dominate 3-time World Tekken Champion. He comes to the USA to defend his championship.
The tournament matches were very great to watch in 2007. So many new moves, combos, counters, and techniques were shown in the tournament. Jerry Steel's hopes of going to the final match were ended by Michael Ore. Michael Ore crushed Jerry Steel without losing any rounds at all. The tournament moved into the semi finals and Terry Williams came to play. Terry destroyed Michael Ore in an upsetting victory. Terry would then go on and make history by defeating Feng Tao in the final match to become the new World Tekken Champion of 2007!

2008 April 26th Location: New York, USA Game Used: Tekken 5 Last year, Michael Ore made it very far into the tournament after he was defeated in the semi-finals to take 5th place. Coincidentally, he was defeated by the very same person who ended up winning the World Tekken Tournament of 2007. This year both Michael Ore and Terry Williams (World Tekken Champion of 2007) made it to the final match of the night. Terry made a huge decision to swtich up his fighting character and chose to use Heihachi Mishima instead of Kazuya Mishima from the year before. This proved to be a big mistake for Terry Williams. Michael Ore knew the strengths and weaknesses of Heihachi and proved to be Terry’s downfall. Michael Ore ahhnilated Terry Williams 3-1 with 3 straight victories to end the tournament. We thought Terry had Michael in the first match, but it was only a warm-up match for him. Michael Ore used that match to figure out the fighting style of Terry and used it against him. The crowd went nuts as Michael Ore destroyed Terry for the last match and taking the throne as new World Tekken Champion of 2008! Terry did not shake hands with the new champion and stormed off the stage.
