Wordiamo is a board game where players arrange letters to create words. In making words, players strategically build word islands and bridges as they go for bonuses and vie for the win. Unlike Scrabble and Words With Friends, 1) players do not need to immediately connect words on the board, 2) there are no bonus squares on the board, and 3) players can win not only by scoring the most points but also by playing a knockout word. The game’s rules and concepts generally encourage an open board with prolific word play and discourage defensive strategies that close off places to play. Wordiamo is a free app for the iPhone and iPad and available on the App Store.
