Street nerf

Street Nerf is a simple sport requiring a nerf ball and a goal. The aim is simply to score more points than the opposition. The popularity of the sport is increasing due to the simple nature of the game, but the sense of competition is still maintained. The game is preferably played in football cages with teams of 2 v 2. Each team takes it in turn to attempt to score points; either by scoring the nerf in the goal or hitting the boards surrounding the goal, with the target to score 10 points before the opposition. In cases where only a goal is available the scoring system is adjusted and each successful goal is worth 2 points whereas hitting the frame of the goal gains 1 point.

Rules (as of yet the game is simplistic without too many rules):
1 - The game is to be played in a street cage typical of UK suburbs with two goals and boards to the side of each goal. The pitch should be no more than 20 metres long.
2 - Each team consists of two players, these players must take it in turns to attack, but can defend simultaneously.
3 - When an attacking player has the ball in his hand he may take two paces from his goal before releasing the ball.
4 - A player may start behind his goal line for extra paces.
5 - If a player throws the ball or deflects it into his own goal the other player or team will score, the same is true if a player throws or deflects the ball against their own side boards.
6 - In defending their goal a player must not be more than two paces from goal.
7 - If a ball crosses the line but does not strike the back of the goal it is still a goal.
8 - If a ball goes underneath the side board without contact then no points are scored.
9 - If a ball strikes the frame of the goal then the player scores the same points as if it hit a side board.
10 - The game is controlled by two referees who stand at seperate ends of the playing field. They are responsible for deciding if contact is made with a sideboard or whether the nerf has crossed the goal line. Both referees have equal power and their ruling is final.
Scoring System
Goal - 3 points
Side Board - 1 point
First team to score 10 points is the winner, in the event of a three set match then each set is won by gaining 10 points first however the overall win is claimed by winning two of the three sets.

- When they're not looking: When the opposition hug in homo-erotic fashion a player throws the ball quickly for an easy score.
Common Tactics:
- Zonal Marking - One player covers the left board, the other player the right board and a combined effort on the goal.
- Front and Rear - One player acts as a first line of defence throwing themselves in front of the ball while the other player stands behind and protects any attacks that go by.

- Chaos: A player who strategically throws the nerf between the opposition players causing panic and chaos in the goal area.
- Weakling: A player with minimal physical strength who is still dangerous because of the volatile bounces attached to such a slow and pathetic shot.
League Structure:
Each league team play the other league teams on two occassions. The league is followed by a playoff system. Under the current playoff system the highest ranked team plays the lowest ranked team, second highest against second lowest etc. In the league each match requires teams to play a best of three sets to win, however in the playoffs a team must win three sets to be declared the winner.
