Shridhar Venkat is the Chief Executive Officer of the Akshaya Patra Foundation, which is a non-profit organisation in India that runs school lunch programme across India. Education and alma mater Shridhar holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Government College of Engineering Karad securing First Class with Distinction.(1986-1990).He further completed his Master’s Degree in Management from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies.He did his graduatation in the Advanced Management Program from Wharton Business School. Career life Shridhar has over 23 years of work experience with the ruling multinationals like Philips,ABB,Webex Communications(now CISCO), Shridhar used his strong people management and organization expertise for the growth and development of the foundation and in May 2014 got promoted as the CEO of Akshaya Patra Foundation. Work The Akshaya Patra Foundation ,effectively directed by Shridhar Venkat,feeds 1.4 million children every day and thus is the world’s largest NGO-governed school meal program .Illustrating his engineering background, Shridhar has sketched every feature of the program for the best results. He has always made it a point to develop new technologies for making and distributing food inexpensively at the same time maintaining the nutrition and quality of the food. Shridhar proudly claims that the foundation has never failed to deliver a meal on any day in the last 11 years. Shridhar along with other Akshaya Patra employees has also created a fun game application titled ‘Thali for All’ for the gamers to lean how the Akshaya Patra's kitchens operate. The program decreased the malnutrition level ,increased the school attendance and even the post-educational accomplishments and thus became a Harvard Business School case study, which has been recognized both nationally and internationally.
