William Tomicki

William (Bill) Tomicki is an American journalist and travel writer. He is the president, publisher and editor in chief of ENTREE Travel newsletter. Tomicki is a former travel columnist for the New York Times Syndicate and Bel-Air Hotel Magazine, the senior editor of Traveler Overseas Magazine, and has co-authored four books. He also served as a contributing editor for Private Clubs Magazine, POLO magazine and was a founding editor of San Francisco Magazine and LA Style. Tomicki has been knighted in both France and Portugal and, thanks to a land acquisition in England in 2007, holds the title Lord Millcombe.
Early life
William Tomicki graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts in English in 1962. He served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves during the Vietnam War. He retired and moved to Montecito with wife and children in 1981.
1981-Present
While working for John's Island and Sotheby's, Tomicki gathered hotel and restaurant advice in cities in different coutnries. In 1981, he came out of retirement and started ENTREE Travel Newsletter, a monthly luxury travel, food and lifestyle newsletter. In the magazine, he specifies his intent to include insider tips and personal accounts, rather than being PR focused. the magazine has 22,000 subscribers.
He also served as a contributing editor for Private Clubs Magazine, POLO Magazine, and the Bel-Air Magazine from 1981-1990. In 2008, Tomicki won a Jackpot Rewards sweepstakes for $1m.
Personal life
William Tomicki and his wife, Barbara, have two sons, Theron and Hadley, and live in Santa Barbara, California.
