William Todd Mason

Introduction
Todd Mason (born William Todd Mason) is a senior broadcast executive with over two decades of management and creative leadership experience which includes: simultaneous management of multiple broadcast operations throughout the country, multiple “turn around” success stories, mergers & acquisitions strategy, P&L responsibilities, international business development, technical facility design, build and management; and building top performing broadcast organizations. Mr. Mason is an award winning executive producer; he has executive produced and production managed thousands of hours of national live and taped programming in studio and on location. Mr. Mason’s extensive experience in all areas of broadcast management, programming, creative, and technology provides him a distinctive understanding of the broadcast industry which he brings to every project.

Work History
Mr. Mason founded Mason Media Group, LLC in 2005, achieving rapid growth and profitability in the first year. MMG is a diversified media holding company who invests in companies with in the communications industry. MMG companies work with entertainment, political/advocacy, and corporate clients to; develop, craft, and distribute their message driven by highly creative and experience individuals who are top in their fields and leveraging the latest in new media technology. Additionally MMG companies develop, produce, and provide technical services to the broadcast and film industry with a primary focus on Sports and Entertainment. MMG currently has interest in the following companies, Face Time Strategies, LLC * Mixed Martial Arts Championship, LLC, Mason Productions, MMG Entertainment, Merge Creative Media, LLC, Mason Media Networks, LLC and New Sports Entertainment, LLC

Mason Productions landed a production management contract with ESPN in the first month of operation and within eight months secured a potentially multimillion dollar production management, HD technical design, and integration contract with another major client.

Prior to starting MMG, Mr. Mason was President and Chief Operating Officer of Atlantic Video, Inc. engineering the complete overhaul of the company, and its subsidiary Atlantic Video at the Manhattan Center, Inc. in New York. During his seven years with the company, he repaired nearly a decade of business deterioration and transformed the company into a vibrant broadcast entity. Mr. Mason's accomplishments include growing the revenue nearly 400%, while enhancing staff, technology and the company's reputation. Under Mr. Mason’s leadership the company grew from a single location production company to a national company with locations in three of the top ten broadcast markets. Mr. Mason brought major new network relationships to the company including ESPN, Discovery, PBS, Comedy Central, Showtime etc. Mr. Mason was co-creator and executive producer of the hit series “The Pet Psychic” for Animal Planet, was on the launch team for and provided on-going production management, staffing and facilities for ESPN’s hit shows, “Pardon the Interruption”, “Around the Horn”, and “Cold Pizza”; and provided production management for the PBS 26-hour live global millennium broadcast.

Prior to his time at AV, Mr. Mason was President and Chief Executive Officer of PVS*SPEER International, Inc. managing its operations in Atlanta, Nashville, and Washington, DC. Mr. Mason was charged with improving the company's reputation and technical facilities while improving the bottom line. His successes were displayed in the 37% growth of the company's international client base and expansion into several new markets.

In the early 1990s Mason served as Senior Vice President of Strategic Development and Chief Financial Officer of Henninger Media Services, Inc. For six years Mr. Mason focused on growing the business from a mid-sized local post-production operation to a national leader in post-production services with operations in six markets from coast to coast. Under his guidance, Henninger grew 600% in six years. That growth included four acquisitions led by Mason. He also developed and negotiated a joint venture between Henninger and The Tribeca Film Center in Manhattan and created three start-up facilities.

Mason began his professional broadcasting career in his hometown of Richmond, Virginia, where he was partner in a start-up production facility. Delmar Communications was profitable within 14 months of its inception and acquired its largest competitor within 12 months.


Mr. Mason has also been called on by the Washington, DC business community to serve in a number of capacities. He was on Mayor Anthony Williams' transition team serving on the Committee for Economic Development. He was a founding board member of the Washington, DC Technology Council, and he served on the Board of the DC Economic Partnership. Mason Media Group is currently a member of the District of Columbia Chamber of Commerce.
