Cecil Cox

Cecil Cox is a digital media executive and film producer. He is the co-founder and president of AffinityTV247, Inc.
Career
Talent Management
Cecil began his career in the entertainment industry in the International Creative Management agent training program. He was mentored by ICM Vice Chairman and former studio head Guy McElwaine. He later moved to the William Morris Agency, where he became the first black franchised agent in the legacy William Morris motion picture department. At William Morris, Cecil worked in the service of artists such as George Clooney, Queen Latifah, Eddie Griffin, Raven-Symoné, Jaleel White, Bobby Brown, Ice Cube and Tupac Shakur.
Film Executive
Mundy Lane Entertainment: In 1997 Cecil joined Mundy Lane Entertainment, the motion picture and television production company founded by Academy Award winner Denzel Washington. As the senior executive at Mundy Lane, Cecil oversaw all TV, film, new media and strategic planning. He supervised the development of over a dozen projects including the award-winning films, “Hurricane” and “The Antwone Fisher Story.” Through Mundy Lane's production partnership with HBO, he also executive produced the documentary, “Half Past Autumn: The Life and Times of Gordon Parks.” The film received three overall Emmy nominations and an NAACP Image Award nomination.
MB Convergent Media Consulting: In 2004 Cecil founded a convergent media focused practice that provided content development and strategic partnership services to internet based entertainment companies and creative talent. Clients included Fluid Music, inc. (now Mood Media LSE:MM), the world's largest B2B music services company. Provided content strategies in company's partnership with producers of American Idol (Fox), in launch of American Idol Underground, an emerging artist discovery site.
AffinityTV247, INC.: In 2008, Cecil co-founded AffinityTV247, Inc. (formerly Muse Media, Inc. and BTV247, Inc.) and currently serves as the company's President. AffinityTV247, Inc. is a leading developer of online video based affinity communities and a provider of affordable content marketing solutions to small and medium sized business operators.</ref>

Athletic career
Cecil was a member of Harvard College’s varsity baseball and football programs. He pitched for the Harvard Crimson’s baseball team for one season (1984) and was a two-time All-Ivy defensive back for Harvard's football team. Cecil shares the single season interception record (8), was a Sporting News All-American and voted MVP. Cecil signed a free agent contract with the Detroit Lions.
Good Works
Cecil Co-Founded, is the Executive Director of and helped endow the Mary & William Tighe Foundation. This scholarship fund awards grants to graduating METCO seniors of Cox's alma mater, Lexington High School, who demonstrate a commitment to Community, Scholarship and Teamwork.
