William S. Bloxsom-Carter

William S. Bloxsom-Carter is an American restaurant owner and celebrity wine judge. He is most well known for his previous position as the Director of Food and Beverage and Executive Chef at the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles, California. Currently, Chef Carter owns and operates The Canyon Villa Bed and Breakfast with his wife Katherine Bloxsom-Carter. The chef and his wife purchased the villa from the former Innkeepers by Diane and Jim Babcock on April 15, 2015. William Carter has also established himself as the recurring celebrity chef for the annual Bakersfield College Foundation’s Sterling Silver Dinner which raises money for student scholarships at Bakersfield College. Chef Carter has prepared winery dinners in Sonoma County, Napa Valley, Paso Robles and the Santa Ynez Valley as well as special events for high-profile clients throughout the United States, focusing on the importance of food and wine pairings and extraordinary hospitality service.
The Canyon Villa Bed and Breakfast
The Canyon Villa Bed and Breakfast is currently under the ownership of William Carter and Katherine Bloxsom-Carter. They purchased the bed and breakfast from the previous innkeepers Diane and Jim Babcock in early 2015. The villa reports that they plan to upgrade the guest experience by offering unique dining experiences, winemaker-led private tastings, holiday celebrations and special weekend packages. Chef Carter comments, "We are proud to extend our hospitality expertise to the visitors of Paso Robles. The warm welcome we have received is truly amazing. We are fully committed to increasing The Canyon Villa’s visibility and expanding reservations to every day of the week." The bed and breakfast is dedicated to welcoming local, regional, national and international travelers to the esteemed Central Coast of California. Corporate, educational, government, and leisure travelers will appreciate the Canyon Villa’s location just minutes from downtown Paso Robles as well as the closeness to the Westside wineries, nearby beaches, and the famed Hearst Castle.
The villa is located in acclaimed Paso Robles wine region at 1455 Kiler Canyon Road in Paso Robles, California. The villa offers 4 distinct rooms: Lucca, Cortona, Siena, and Castellina which are named after four Tuscan Villages. The rooms include fireplaces, balconies, and private bathrooms designed to give guests an ultimate pampering experience. Room prices start at just over $300 per night and are tobacco and pet free.
A three-course gourmet complimentary breakfast is served mornings between 8 and 9:30am in the Dining Room, or outside on the Terrace or Pergola. They feature locally grown organic ingredients whenever possible. The gourmet breakfast begins with freshly baked pastries followed by a fresh fruit parfait. The entrée changes daily - it could be Frittata Prima Vera, Neopolitan Quiche, or scrambled ranch eggs with chive and slow cooked pork shank or duck leg confit.
In the late afternoon they serve a selection of curated Central Coast wines and small plates between 5:30 and 6:30 pm. They offer a variety of cheeses, and other appetizers including cured meats and fish, ceviches, olives, crackers and spreads, and during the warmer months specialty pizzas from a unique outdoor wood-burning oven.<ref name="TheCanyonVilla"/>
