Wildwind

Wildwind (3900 Glenview Road) is a mansion located in the fictional town of Pine Valley, Pennsylvania. Originally owned by the Maricks, a family of Hungarian nobility, the mansion has been home to a great many Pine Valley residents over the years.
Architecture and Design
From 1991 to 2010, Wildwind has been portrayed as a castle-like Gothic estate. The walls were made of stone, nearly all the windows had diamond-shaped panes with the Marick family crest on them, and the front doors, which were made of elaborately crafted oak, had large brass knockers. In early-to-mid 2010, Wildwind was remodeled and modernized.
Features
The main mansion included areas such as the parlor, a turret which was once occupied by Gillian Andrassy, a ballroom, and private chapel. Other locations on the property include the hunting lodge which served as the refuge for Dimitri Marick and Erica Kane, the stables, and a well that once served as a prison to Natalie Marlowe.
Occupants
The Marick/Grey/Santos Family
Wildwind was originally owned and occupied by Hugo Marick, his wife Anna, and their son, Dimitri. They were related to the royal Andrassy family of Hungary. A number of servants lived on the Wildwind property, including the Greshams and the Voynitzevas.
In 1991, Dimitri rescued Natalie Marlowe from the well on the Wildwind property and nursed her back to health. Natalie had been imprisoned there by her crazed sister Janet. The two fell in love and got engaged. However, it turned out that Dimitri was still married to Angelique Voynitzeva, the daughter of his housekeeper Helga. Angelique had been in a coma for 15 years following a riding accident, and Helga had kept her hidden in a secret room in the mansion, unbeknownst to Dimitri. Angelique emerged from her coma on the night of Dimitri and Natalie's engagement party and Helga revealed her to the couple and their guests. Natalie ended her relationship with Dimitri and reunited with her former lover Trevor.
Shortly thereafter Edmund Grey arrived in town. Edmund was the son of Alf and Flora Gresham, servants for the Maricks. Edmund and Dimitri were childhood friends, but because Dimitri was rich and Edmund was poor, Edmund grew up in Dimitri's shadow. However, upon his return to Pine Valley, Edmund learned that he was actually a Marick himself (the product of an affair between his mother and Hugo Marick) and that he and Dimitri were half-brothers. In addition, Edmund was also an heir to the Wildwind estate. Upon this discovery, Edmund moved into Wildwind where he and his wife, Maria Santos would raise a family. Later on, Wildwind was opened to Maria's extended family as well.
Dimitri, meanwhile, married Erica Kane in 1994. They spent a lot of their time at the Wildwind Hunting Lodge. They divorced in 1995 but married again in 1996. They divorced for a final time in 1999.
In 1997 Princess Gillian Andrassy arrived in Pine Valley. She had been sent to live with her cousin Dimitri at Wildwind after disgracing her family by having an affair with a married foreign ambassador. Dimitri let her stay in the turret. Gillian eventually married Ryan Lavery, but their happiness was short-lived as Gillian was tragically shot and killed just a few months after their wedding.
Following Gillian's death, Dimitri and his wife Alex left Pine Valley for Hungary to help Gillian's family come to terms with her death. They would later settle down at Vadzel, the Maricks' ancestral castle in Budapest.
In 2002 Maria Santos Grey returned to Pine Valley. She had previously been believed to have died in a plane crash about 5 years before. Unfortunately she had no memory of her former life in Pine Valley, including her husband Edmund and their children, Sam and Maddie. It took some time but eventually she re-gained her memories and moved back into Wildwind with Edmund. Unfortunately Edmund was murdered about 2 years later. Maria and Maddie left Pine Valley, Sam followed a few months later.
Julia Santos
In 2005 Julia Santos returned to Pine Valley after several years in the witness protection program. She moved into Wildwind, which was left empty upon the departure of Maria and her children. Julia rented out the rooms to her friends, just as her brother in law Edmund had done for her family years before.
Julia became the foster mother for a little girl named Kathy Mershon, the adopted daughter of a couple Julia had met during her time in the witness protection program. Julia had made plans to go to Australia with Kathy, but tragedy struck when Julia was murdered. Initially, Kathy was to go live with Julia's sister Maria in California, but after it was revealed that Kathy was actually Kate Martin, the long lost daughter of Tad and Dixie, she was sent to live with her biological father.
David Hayward
Wildwind remained empty for several months following Julia's death. In October 2008 David Hayward returned to Pine Valley and moved into Wildwind (still owned by the Greys at the time). During this time Wildwind would be associated with David and his evil ways.
Bianca Montgomery
When David Hayward was thought to be dead in 2010 Bianca Montgomery moved in with Miranda and Gabrielle Montgomery. She was also so generous and let Caleb Cortlandt move in.
