Maria Migdalia Perez Soto

Born 1953 in Paris, France raised in Isabela, Puerto Rico. She was an influential and innovative French-American interior decorator and one of the most important figures in Miami Social Calendar. Her parents were both agricultural farmers at one time owning as much as 4,000 acres of prime cultivated land in Puerto Rico. She was 1 of 9 children her parents had.
In 1978, she married Rafael Rodriguez Zuckerman Mendez, he served in the Legislative Assembly of Puerto Rico. She left her studies in Interior Design to live a normal home life with her two children Richard and Roy. In 1996 she separated from her husband and in 1997, she filed for divorce in Coral Gables, Florida. At the time Perez Soto was destitute when the divorce became final Mr Zuckerman-Mendez paid a lump sum of $10,719,000 plus $15,000 per child per year until the age of 17 years or the end of full time education. Perez Soto retained ownership of Casa Violeta the Coral Gables mansion that was their home, Jewelery, and 10% of the outstanding stock of Capri Holdings. It also included a custody agreement that was sealed and never made public. Her entire settlement was valued at that time $20 Million.
Migdalia Perez Soto in 1997 created an interior design firm called Design by Interior which became her main priority. She and her siblings also created Perez Companc Investment Group an investment group that would invest in behalf of the family. She was a founding member of a woman's shelter in Miami, as well as a major benefactor of Camilas house.
In 2007 she was found unconscious in her Cocoplum Mansion, she died 2 weeks later of open heart surgery. Her eldest son Richard Rodriguez Mendez was the heir apparent. It was never determine or disclosed what Migdalia Perez Soto suffered from. Her son Richard Rodriguez-Mendez was awarded custody of Amanda Michelle Soto Perez Soto daughter, Since then he has shelter himself from social activities protecting his half sister as well as his own son. Richard Rodriguez-Mendez is widely influenced by his grandmother Sonja Zuckerman, who has named various time her only heir.
At the time of Perez-Soto death she was one of the most successful interior designer in Miami and her brand was to be expanded to New York, France, California and Texas she never lived to see her Company flourish to what it has become today one of the leading Luxury Home design firms in the United States.
Migdalia Perez Soto, sister Maria Del Carmen Sundblad Beccar Varela is married to Argentina's richest man and one of Richard Rodriguez's closest uncle's after the death of his father, Gregorio has become a father figure to Richard Rodriguez Mendez consulting with his on family affairs as well as Rodriguez own battle with cancer.
