Wholetones

Wholetones is a healing musical frequency project created by Michael S.Tyrrell that attempts to relieve stress, help sleep patterns and promote healing. Wholetones draw this mode of music from the idea of Vibrational Healing and sound healing therapy, as well as scientific studies on the beneficial effects of music. Their albums, Calm and Soothing Music for Dogs and the Life, Love, and Lullabies albums both reached number one on the Billboard’s New Age Chart, while Chroma peaked number eight.
History
Tyrrell, a Christian songwriter, launched Wholetones in 2014 as a way to apply sonic frequencies to healing therapy. According to interviews, while researching different kinds of musical traditions, Tyrrell travelled to Jerusalem, where he learned about these particular healing frequencies. In Wholetone’s songs, musicians tune their instruments at a higher register than more traditional tuning, which Tyrrell asserts creates the healing effect.
In 2017, Wholetones released Wholetones: Calming and Soothing Music for Dogs, which featured in both Marie Claire and the animal website and digital platform Your Daily Dish as a way to help dogs and cats with separation anxiety. Additionally, Wholetones released the album Life, Love, and Lullabies in 2017 and Chroma in 2015.
Charts
Several Wholetones albums have become best-selling CDs. Both the Calm and Soothing Music for Dogs and the Life, Love, and Lullabies albums peaked at number one on the Billboard’s New Age Chart, while Chroma peaked at number eight. Wholetones Christmas: Volume 1 (released in 2015) charted at #8 on the Billboard charts in 2016.
