Tiasa Ray

Tiasa Ray (born 23 July 1996) is an independent singer-songwriter, painter and instrumentalist from Calcutta, India. She started to write her own songs at the age of 15 and released two EP Albums and multiple singles written, composed and sung by herself. “Miles To Go” was released on March 18, 2016 by OK Listen Media and “My Reverie” was released on July 24, 2016 by Amadea Music.
Career
Tiasa began her career in singing from very early childhood of age 7, performed in various singing competitions all over Calcutta and owning multiple awards and trophies. Growing up in a supportive family motivates her to write her own original music. At the age of 15 she started to write her own music when she got her own guitar. She loves to pen down her stories and make a song out of it. Her biggest influences have been always her mother and father.
At the age of 18 She started posting her original music on YouTube and other music stores like Sound Cloud, Reverbnation, Band Camp, CD Baby etc. which got the attention of many independent Record labels and online radio stations. Over the year 2016 she came up with her brand new home-recorded Original Albums ( Miles To Go , My Reverie, To Santa) and were released worldwide by indie labels like OK Listen Media, Amadea Music, Qyuki Digital Media. Her songs have been played multiple times on online Radio stations and caught many ears.
According to her, the career has just begun yet, there’s a long way ahead of her. She has performed her original songs in few small venues as a solo artist with her guitar.
Influences
Tiasa is heavily affectionate to Western Music which reflects through her songs. Being from a Bengali background, her passion for pursuing Western Music was pretty hard to carry on but nothing could stop her from writing her own music in English. Her biggest idols are Beyonce, Whitney Houston, Jessie J, Christina Aguilera, John Mayer, Adele , John Lennon , Bob Dylan, Santana, Eric Clapton , Steven Wilson, and many other contemporary artists. Her songs reflect the vibe of a teenage life, love, heart break, dreams, family and she is a avid story teller.
She is also attracted to paintings, Sculptures, Monuments and other performing arts.
Family and Personal Life
Tiasa was born on Calcutta, India and she is from a Bengali family background. Her mother is her biggest supporter and she is pretty well known for her song writing skill in Bengali. Her father is a government doctor and a social worker helping unprivileged people. Her dad writes songs about society and life which influence her to write songs too. She is also a full time student, currently studying in Bidhannagar College, Salt Lake.
One of her biggest hobby is painting. The cover arts of her few songs are her original painting expressing her thoughts.

Miles To Go
"Miles to Go" is Tiasa’s first EP album released on March 18, 2016 by OKlisten Media. It has 8 original songs written, composed and sung by her, including the acoustic versions. The album includes two Bengali original songs called “Janina ki bolbo”, “Tomar Ei Oviman” and two English songs called “I’m 17 & He’s 25” which is about being a kid falling in love with an older guy and “You and Me” the last song of this album which is about an unpredictable love-story.
The songs were produced by ‘Saibal Karmakar’ in his Home Recording Studio - “S.K Studio”.
My Reverie
“My Reverie” is Tiasa’s second EP album released on July 24, 2016 by Amadea Music. It has 7 original songs written, composed and sung by her. The songs are said to be about her own ‘17 years old self’ time. The first song on the album called “I’m gonna make it” is the intro song of the album which is about her dreams to become a successful singer-songwriter and make her mom proud. The following song “California Dreams” is about her dreams to go to California and pursue her music career knowing that the reality is tough but it’s worth trying too.
The other songs, “Would You Love Me”, “Ooh Dear Cupid”, “Christmas Wish” are about ‘an unrequited love story’ and “Love You Till The End” is about some unfulfilled promises and a guy whom she used to love in high school. The last song is the re-mastered version of “You and Me”.
All of the songs in the album were produced by ‘Saibal karmakar’ whom she is very fond of.
To Santa
On December 25, 2016 Tiasa released her first home-made EP album “To Santa” which is written, composed, produced and sung by her. After getting her own home recording studio she began to learn basic things about recording and ended up with making Two Christmas Songs all by her own. She named the album “To Santa” that includes two songs called “Little Song” and “Santa Love”. She released the album independently and looking forward to make more music.
