When Strangers meet

When Strangers meet .. is a 2013 urban fiction novel written by K Hari Kumar. It follows the accidental meeting of three strangers who are stranded in a deserted room at a metro station and how one stranger's story affects the lives of the two other strangers. The story is set in the North Indian cities of Gurgaon and Delhi and a flashback in Madras.
Plot
The book follows three strangers that happen to meet one day inside a damp metro station in Delhi. There the wise-cracking Iyer will meet the frustrated and arrogant teenager Jai, as well as Pathan, a man who has never truly experienced happiness in his life - but is grateful for his very existence. As the three men come together and talk about their lives, their lives' paths will entwine and forever change.

Development
Kumar initially began writing the work as a screenplay entitled My name is Iyer, but later moved to develop it into a novel after falling ill. After finishing the book Kumar solicited his manuscript to various publishers and was rejected by "half a dozen" before it was purchased by Srishti Publishers & Distributors.
