Webchutney

Webchutney is a digital advertising agency and consulting firm based in India. It is headquarted in New Delhi, with branch offices in Mumbai and Bangalore.
In 2007, the Network 18's investment arm Capital18 acquired invested an undisclosed amount in Webchutney.
History
Webchutney was started in 1999 by Sidharth Rao and Sudesh Samaria, both at Grey Advertising then. Based out of a small office in Green Park, New Delhi they started their operations. Within a few years they started working with a slew of clients, both national and international.
Breakthrough came with their 'Chidiya Udi' viral campaign for Make My Trip in 2006, their flagship account at that time. 'Chidiya Udi' went on to strike Gold at Goafest 2006 and (also) mark itself as one of the Top 12 Campaigns in the MarketingSherpa's Viral Marketing Hall of Fame 2006.
Webchutney was ranked No. 1 Digital Agency in India by Brand Equity in 2008 and 2009. However, the agency has slipped down to the third position in the 2010 ranking, behind Hungama and WPP Group's iContract.
Campaigns
Webchutney is often credited with introducing 'online viral marketing' in Indian advertising. It has an employee strength of 150 people across offices in New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. The agency has created many successful viral campaigns for clients like Airtel, Make My Trip, Microsoft, Perfetti, Hewlett Packard, Gillette, Marico, Mastercard, and very recently BharatMatrimony.com.
Some of its notable virals include The Moving Train for MakeMyTrip, Thakur Ka Inteqaam for and Daddu Ki Amanat for Perfetti.
In 2011, it launched the Biwi Ho Toh Aisi for Bharat Matrimony. The website lets the bachelors get a 'preview' of what type of wife would best suit their personalities.
The same year, it also launched the Amar Prem campaign for MakeMyTrip. An extension of the MakemyTrip's "Responsible Traveller" initiative, it gives the users a chance to scribble on famous Indian monuments online, instead of defacing the real monuments.
Webchutney also incubated JuxtConsult, an online research firm and NetworkPlay, a brand ad-network in India.
