Web technologies

Web Technologies
Web Technologies is a course provided by the University of South Australia.
The aim of this course is to develop the foundational knowledge, experience and skills for the delivery of emerging web technologies. Students will encounter these technologies in a practical way throughout the course and this will hopefully develop an understanding of the processes involved in the development of these web applications.
The theoretical aspects of the course will relate to web site quality and will embrace concepts like information architecture, search optimization, usability, accessibility, and standards compliance. The storage and subsequent use of web metrics data will provide a very practical foundation for these considerations. They will further be reinforced through their application in weekly individual practical activities.
Students will need the knowledge of the WWW that they would achieve through the completion of Electronic Publishing on the Internet (INFT 2002). They should also be aware they will be exposed to the concepts and requirements of dynamic websites and the use of databases in their support.
