Warehouse Republic

Warehouse Republic are an English band from Lincolnshire and London that play modern blues rock. Their signature sound is a dance beat with a blues structure over the top. They are also known for using guitar solos at a time when they aren't fashionable due to a large amount of talent-contest winners, retro-electro pop and indie boy bands. They formed in 2009 with Charlie Flynn (24) as lead guitarist and vocalist and S.S. (Stevie Stixx) (22) as drummer.
They have supported Andy Rourke (The Smiths), Alabama Three (Sopranos theme tune) and headlined Barfly in a now notorious gig which resulted in the venue's drums being smashed up and two of the band members leaving as a result. They are picking up a bad boy image which is offset by an intelligence in their music and lyrics. This is augmented by well-documented heavy-drinking and chain-smoking image. They tend to wear classic rock and roll black.
Charlie Flynn was reported to have been involved by several media outlets at having dated Frances Bean Cobain (daughter of Courtney Love and Kurt Cobain). However Flynn has strenuously denied having ever even met her.
Their debut E.P. is being released on Panda Records on 19th April 2009. They are set to do a mini tour of America and the U.K. to support this. The e.p. is being backed by Freshwater Hughes management (Meatloaf, Joss Stone).
They have been described by English music magazine N.M.E. as "The Beatles with beats" by the world famous Troubadour club: (Bob Dylan's first English gig venue) "Described by one American reviewer as “The Beatles with beats” Warehouse Republic play sharp, melodic rhythms mixing modern drumbeats from hip hop to dance and classic songs. The songs are about social change and everyday life. They are modern, fresh and inventive and the boys are real and good-humoured through and through. They are not part of a scene and don’t follow the fashion magazines instead actually concentrating on making the music they love so much. They are a feel-good band who play beautiful music that will cheer up the whole nation."
