VYRE Ltd., headquartered in London, UK, is a software company that manufactures an enterprise content management (CMS) system called VYRE Unify. Unify is a Java EE (Java Enterprise Edition) system, which runs on any Java application server or servlet container.
Company History
VYRE has been around since 1997. The company was founded in Iceland, and was at that time named Northern Communication and Design (NCD). The CMS system was at that time called DataWeb, and developed in ASP. In 1998, the system was rewritten in Java, and shortly afterwards the company (and the system) was renamed SALT. The company opened offices in New York and London in the year 2000. In 2001, the company (and the system) was renamed again to VYRE.
In 2003, the company was acquired by the London based Offstump Ltd., and has been based in London since. Since then the system has been rewritten and the architecture revised, to support scalable enterprise applications. The latest release is VYRE Unify version 4.4.
Products
VYRE Unify
VYRE's flagship product is Unify, a web based CMS platform that provides a content repository, website publishing and portal, user management and optional e-commerce feature. The Butler Group has included VYRE Unify in its yearly Enterprise Content Management technology audit since 2005.
DAPS
The Digital Asset Processing Server (DAPS) is a system for bulk processing files of various binary formats to create derived files. For example thumbnails versions of images, extracted text from office documents and storyboards of video files.
