The term vp.art designs a marginal form of digital art, where vp is an acronym of "voice painting". It has nothing to do with Soundpainting. A major aspect of vp.art is the use of latest technology to highlight a "voice print", similar to a finger print or a DNA imprint. With vp.art the artists start from a voice recording, which will be processed using specific technology and sound processing software, to generate a graphical representations of the recording. The resulting electronic files will then be processed using advanced graphic design software. The artistic inspiration transforms the raw computer output into vp.art. Very few artists practice vp.art. One of them is the German artist . Höser starts from famous voice recordings, poetry recitals or even recording with anonymous passers-by in the street or random locations.
