Interactive Digital Technology

Interactive Digital Technology (IDT) encompasses the underlying technology and skill sets used to make computer games. IDT is used to create products and services in the computer game market segment known as serious games which is a genre that does not have entertainment as the first objective. Such technology is used to create business simulations, interactive training and informational media. The term was first used at the Shawnee 2.0 conference in Portsmouth, Ohio in October 2004.
IDT includes broadband, high-end computer hardware, development engines and software. IDT also includes job categories such as programming, graphic arts, project management, story telling, scriptwriting and art designer.
