VisitWiltshire is the official tourism partnership for the county of Wiltshire in South West England, created with a remit to promote and develop tourism in the county. The VisitWiltshire Tourism Partnership (VisitWiltshire) is one of nine Destination Management Organisations or Partnerships, created under the South West Tourism "Towards 2015" Strategy. VisitWiltshire covers the geographic county of Wiltshire (ie the areas of the Wiltshire unitary authority, Wiltshire Council, and the Borough of Swindon). VisitWiltshire is a private sector/public sector partnership with funding from the local authorities, tourism businesses, external grants and sponsorship. Although a membership organisation with members having tourism businesses in the county, currently the majority of VisitWiltshire's funding comes from Wiltshire Council, for which it provides tourism services. The VisitWiltshire board has representatives from Wiltshire Council, Swindon Borough Council, South West Tourism, and private sector members. This Board reports to the Wiltshire Strategic Economic Partnership, a company limited by guarantee. VisitWiltshire's main office is located in the cathedral city of Salisbury. It directly operates tourist information centres in Salisbury, Devizes, and Avebury.
