Vinod Chowdhury

Vinod Chowdhury (died June 10, 2008) was an Indian economist, international relations expert and long-time professor at in Delhi. ,
An alumnus of and the Delhi School of Economics, Chowdhury taught economics at his alma mater for more than 30 years, and also served as Head of the Department.<ref nameei/> In addition to his teaching, Chowdhury founded the Commonwealth Collegiate Society at the college, which trains students in debating and then sends them to compete in other countries within the Commonwealth of Nations.<ref nameei/> Chowdhury also served as Head of the Staff Council at the school, including a brief stint as the media advisor to the then St. Stephen's Principal Valson Thampu.<ref name=ei/>
Vinod Chowdhury died of cardiac arrest at Sant Parmanand Hospital, Delhi on June 10, 2008, at the age of 58.<ref nameei/> His funeral was held at Nigambodh Ghat.<ref nameei/>
