M.J Ajithkumar

M.J.Ajithkumar ()()()(born 08th January 1980) is a staff member of the Indian High Commission in London. Now he is working as a Protocol Officer to the United Kingdom for the Government of India. He worked as a programme Officer in the cultural wing of the Indian High Commission in London that is The Nehru Centre from 2005 to 2008. From the Nehru Centre he has transferred as a Public Relations Officer (Visa) to The High Commission of India under the Consular Department of the Ministry of External Affairs.
He previously associated with the Indian Naval NCC as a Senior Cadet Captain for the Central Zone and also served as Secretary of the Nair Service Society NO 230 Chalamkode in Thodupuzha from 2002 to 2005
He is also a prolific author, columnist, and a human rights advocate.
He is the managing trustee of the Mattathil Ammukutty Amma Memorial trust (MAAM Trust) which he founded with his family and friends in the name of his late Grandmother, Smit. Ammukutty Amma Mattathil.
Childhood and education
Mr.M.J. Ajithkumar was born in Central Travancore a village called Chalamkode to T. Lakshmikutty Amma and M.K. Janardhanan Nair belongs from Mattathil Kovilakam. Ajith studied at Government. UP School Chalamkode and He attended high school at St.George’s Higher Secondary School Muthalakodam in Kerala and obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from St. Thomas College, Palai, Kottayam District of Kerala.He went on to win a scholarship to study at Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam and earned master's degrees in Polymer Chemistry at the age of 22 from the School of Chemical Education . After his Post Graduation he was selected for the post of Commissioned officer in the Indian Navy by the Union public Commission of India. The same time Mr. Aith was selected for an other post graduate programme in the United Kingdom and left his Midshipman trainings from the prestigious Officers Training Academy, INS Mondovi in Gova. Later he obtained masters in Business Administration from the Middlesex College in London and presently he is doing another Masters in Public Administration from the Periyar University in India.
Mr.Ajith is the first person in the history of the Mahatma Gandhi University awarded a best Cadet NCC Award from the Prime Minister of India Shri. Atal Bihari Vajpayee for the best Naval Cadet of the year 2001. He was the parade commander for a contingent of the Indian Republic day parade held at New-Delhi on 26th January 2001.
Programme Officer -The Nehru Centre, London
As a programme officer in the Nehru Centre he organized and managed high profile cultural events for foreign delegates, including ministers and other diginetories of various countries. He worked closely with one of the senior most Indian Diplomat Ms. Monika Kapil Mohta IFS who is the Director & Minister Culture of the Indian High Commission in London.
Public Relations Officer-Consular Services, HCI London
As a visa officer Mr. Ajith investigated many "visa security cases" involving Pakistani, Bangladeshi and Srilankan seeking entry into the Indian Union territory who had been convicted by British and other Country courts of being members of illegal organizations, including Lashkar-e-Taiba, , The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam,, Jaish-e-Mohammad , Hizb-ul-Mujahiddeen , and Jammu & Kashmir Liberation Front. Individuals found to be terrorists would be barred by law from entering Indian Union Territory. According to Mr. Ajith, all individuals he interviewed gave similar accounts of being prosicuted by British interrogats

He is also Director and Head of Public relations of Steps Abroad an international educational consultancy around the world based in the UK.
Literary career
Ajith has written books in Malayalam. Most of his literary creations are centered on Kerala themes and they are markedly “village, family and Romantic nostalgia.” Perhaps his most famous work is Paravith (Rock Seed), Short story. His main poems are Pranayam (Love), Kapada Visvasikal etc…Nair began writing at the age of six and his first published story appeared in the “School Magazine”.
Ajith has lectured widely on Kerala and London, and is often quoted for his observations, including, “India is not, as people keep calling it, an underdeveloped country, but rather, in the context of its history and cultural heritage, a highly developed one in an advanced state of decay.”
Personal life
A theatre buff and successful actor, Singer and poemist in his school days, he played many School dramas. At St.George’s Higher Secondary School in the early 1995s he founded the Drama Club. He has wife,Mother Father and Sister in Thodupuzha.
