Vijay Mistry

Vijay Mistry is a British drummer and a member of post punk/art rock band Kaiser Chiefs.
Early career
Vijay was initially the drummer for Club Smith until Kaiser Chiefs' first drummer Nick Hodgson left the bad to pursue other projects.
During his time with Club Smith, Vijay played at the 2010 Reading & Leeds Festivals on the BBC Introducing stage. Club Smith released EPs, singles and a debut album while Vijay was a member.
In early 2012 Club Smith supported Kaiser Chiefs at seven stops on their UK tour.
Kaiser Chiefs
In February 2013, a video was released by Kaiser Chiefs showing Vijay being unveiled - from a large instrument case - to be the new Kaiser Chiefs drummer. The band chose Vijay as he is a close friend of the band's bass player Simon Rix and he knew he could fill the void left by Hodgson well with his enthusiasm.
Mistry accompanied Kaiser Chiefs for his first gig in the Netherlands and continued through the band's UK tour in the early months of the year. Following on from the UK tour, Mistry traveled the world with the band paying concerts in Europe, North America and South America.
In late 2013 Mistry recorded his first album with Kaiser Chiefs. Education, Education, Education & War went on sale on 31 March 2014 and was a new entry at No.1 on 6 April in the United Kingdom.
