Viewpath

Viewpath is a web-based application that lets individuals and collaborative teams securely manage projects and events online.
History
Viewpath was founded by Dean Carlson. Prior to Viewpath, Dean spent two decades providing time and project management consulting to many Fortune 1000 companies and large government agencies. Viewpath’s 1.0 release was launched in 2002 as a SaaS (Software as a Service) application. In October 2007 the company began a public beta of its 2.0 SaaS version. The 2.0 release was commercially launched in Sept of 2008.
Software
The 2.0 version uses extensive AJAX programming within the user-interface to provides inline editing, customizable column layouts, drag-and-drop scheduling on gantt charts and Event Calendars.
Viewpath’s design includes both linear and nonlinear planning strategies to provide flexibility in managing projects even when scheduling details may still be unknown. This contrasts to traditional project planning tools that requires every activity have a start and finish date in a linear schedule.
The application is modeled on project management best practices with customizable activity dashboards. With AJAX, there is no lag time for changes. You can start a page without all the details and not be forced to make a decision prematurely.
Viewpath has integrated a subset of its AJAX code into the Google Docs framework to create dynamic Gantt charts that can be shared or published from within a Google Spreadsheet.
